When you choose to pursue your dance education with Arthur Murray's, you are benefiting from a system of teaching and dancing that has been systematically developed and improved over the past 100+ years.
At Arthur Murray's all of our programs are structured around private lessons. Through decades of experience, we find that this is the fastest and most enjoyable way to learn as your curriculum is personalized to your interests, goals, and progressing at a pace that is comfortable for your learning style. It also ensures a quality level that is unsurpassed. During your one-on-one private lessons, you will receive personalized instruction that will help you achieve your goals in dancing. Your instructor will spend the time necessary on technique, styling, and all of the mechanics that make partnership dancing work. An up-to-date record of everything you have learned will also be kept as part of your instruction.
As a student of Arthur Murray Fort Wayne, you will receive full access to the appropriate group classes for your current level. Group classes are an important supplement to your private instruction as they are the "driving range" of partnership dancing. The primary focus of the group class is repetition and drill, like in going to the driving range and hitting a bucket of golf balls. It is through this repetitive practice that the steps and skills you work on in your private lessons become ingrained in your muscle memory. Groups are also a great way to interact and socialize with other students and to experience the benefit of all of the teachers in the studio.
Practice Dance parties
An additional learning opportunity provided to you as a student of Arthur Murray Fort Wayne is full access to the Studio Practice Dance Parties. In order to become the dancer that exists in your imagination, you have to actually PLAY the game - you have to actually do some social dancing! The parties give you the opportunity to dance with a variety of partners to a variety of different music, develop good dance habits, learn about music identification, and meet other students in the studio - all in a safe environment focused on learning and growth. Our parties are generally closed to the public, so everyone in attendance is a fellow student or teacher.
